»U« marks the first appearance of Ulla Suspekt – bass player, producer and one half of the infamous duo Taxi Lotta. The five songs of the EP combine angriness with a good sense of humor, contemporary trap vibes and dirty 80ies sounds. Avant Garde NDW meets fun punk or in other words: These songs sound exactly how songs about the current state of this world are supposed to sound. Why do we have to pay for public transport? Why is sexism still a thing? What happened to my tooth at this last visit to the dentist? All of that, she recites with an enraptured, maybe ironic subtone, but at the same time she fights the patriarchy with the appropriate seriousness – surrounded by her very own world of dubby synths, bass guitar and analog drums.
