SCHWEBEN is a solo project, exploring the possibilities of floating improvised music. One half of the Kraut-Psych Duo Zement, digs into the sound of ambient, drones, new-minimalism and free-form-music – creating soundscapes to float in and drift away.
Schweben is the first solo-album of SCHWEBEN, recorded in a vault in Würzburg in May & June 2016. It is inspired through journeys and by the feelings of loss and happiness.
released May 25, 2017
This piece of music was recorded with an Arturia MiniBrute, guitars, a Roland SP 404, singing bowls, castanets, claves and some other percussion instruments. All live, no overdubs

Five slabs of minimalistic, motorik krautrock. The repetitiveness is key here. C2S feels like a sonic mantra, while C3A is more akin to an aural sculpture - the way the entire song morphs through different polyrhythms over a repetitive guitar motif is just incredible to listen to.
This is my favourite zement release to date (2022). Its razor-sharp focus on propulsive krautrock is appreciated, all songs are bangers, and at 31 minutes, it doesn’t overstay its welcome. A perfect krautrock record. Smekermann
